Fall Veggie Crops

In Florida we are blessed with two growing seasons. One in the Fall and another in the Spring. I found out the hard way by trying to grow veggies in the summer and failing miserably.

If you think the meals you cook from scratch taste good, you should try growing your own produce. Why not treat yourself with fresh veggies grown organically with your own two hands? It’s also very budget friendly.

Start with potted herbs if you have never grown anything before. I promise you will notice the difference when you use the fresh herbs in your meals. Slowly incorporate 2-3 veggies to your garden per season.  Use a gardening journal to keep notes of what works and what doesn’t.  Just like everything, the more you practice, the better you’ll get.

Say no to meat…sometimes…

I finally got my cholesterol under control. Thanks to my vegan offspring I learned that cholesterol comes from the animals I eat. “You should stop eating meat” she says. Thank goodness I like beans. This is one particular dish of zuchinni and chickpeas is easy to make and delish…

I can’t help notice how bad my body feels when I go for my meaty, trans fat, processed, salty and/or sugary cravings. Daughter knows best :-D
