Spring Garden 2010

Sometimes you need someone to remind you to take time to smell the roses.  I’ve been so busy taking care of the garden, I haven’t taken the time to admire and enjoy it.  Until I received a twitter request for pictures from my childhood friend (we’ve known each other for 33 years).

So Bambi, thanks for the reminder.  These pics are for you:

Fall Veggie Crops

Garden2

(Summer Squash, Cabbage & Broccoli)

In Florida we are blessed with two growing seasons. One in the Fall and another in the Spring. I found out the hard way by trying to grow veggies in the summer and failing miserably.

If you think the meals you cook from scratch taste good, you should try growing your own produce. Why not treat yourself with fresh veggies grown organically with your own two hands? It’s also very budget friendly.

Start with potted herbs if you have never grown anything before. I promise you will notice the difference when you use the fresh herbs in your meals. Slowly incorporate 2-3 veggies to your garden per season.  Use a gardening journal to keep notes of what works and what doesn’t.  Just like everything, the more you practice, the better you’ll get.
