Craft Hope Project 8 – Day 22

Craft Hope Day 22The rainy season is in full force here in Florida.  This equates to emerald green lawns…..that need constant cutting…..that takes me away from crafting.  Not that I’m complaining.  If you have been following me for a while, you know how much I love my yard.  But the garden waits for no one and so I’ve had to put my hook down and answer the reel mower’s call.  Once it’s done, I come back to my little nest and craft again.

This Sylvan Star washcloth pattern is from Lion Brand Yarn’s site. If you use a bigger hook, it will reach the 10″ x 10″ washcloth requirement for Craft Hope.

Craft Hope Project 8 – Day 21

Craft Hope Day 21 I only have 1 1/2 skeins left of my old cotton stash.  I have started to use the yarn a bought a couple of days ago.  I picked brighter colors on purpose in the hopes this will cheer up some of the people who use them, even if it’s just for a few moments.  Their task is a sad one.

This pattern is Lion Brand Yarn’s South Beach washcloth.  It’s very easy to make the nubby texture with alternating half double crochets and slip stitches.

I have been falling behind a little but the good new is the project has changed the deadline to the end of August.  So far I have 21 washcloths done and 9 more to go.

Craft Hope Project 8 – Day 20

Craft Hope Day 20Once again I have reached 10 washcloths and I’m ready to send another package.  This project is just flying by so fast.  I’m 2/3rds of the way to my 30 washcloth goal.

Today’s pattern comes from Lion Brand Yarn and it’s called Bauhaus.  It was a little tricky to get the last rows right but it does end up looking very contemporary.

Craft Hope Project 8 – Day 19

Craft Hope Day 19This project has been great for me.  I find myself working faster and trying new stitches and techniques.  Practice makes perfect.  This pattern is Lion Brand Yarn’s Twinkle, Twinkle.  I crochet with loose stitches so you can see the cream yarn being carried over threw the blue yarn.  This is the first time I attempted to carry over yarn for a patten and it is a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Craft Hope Project 8 – Day 18

Craft Hope Day 18Today’s pattern is called Solid Scallop from Lion Brand Yarn’s stitch finder.  The fan shapes give it a very feminine feeling.  I can see this used for a shawl.  18 done, 12 more washcloths to go.
