Crochet Placemat & Napkin Rings

PlacematI am still working on my quest to make handmade gifts this year. I ended up creating my 1st crochet pattern in the process. It is fairly easy to make and it is possible to add a third color in the band where the fork is. I will try doing this for my own table after the holidays.

Yarn:
Lilly Sugar and Cream 100% cotton
-120 yds 2.5oz #00084 Sage Green 4 skeins
-95 yds 2oz #00228 Natural Ombre 1 skein.
Makes 4 placemats & 4 napkin rings.

Hook:
5mm, US-H

Gauge:
4 sts x 4 rows = 1″

 

Placemat
1) With A ch 45. Starting on 2nd chain from hook, sc in each ch, ch1.
2) *sc in each sc, ch 1. Repeat from * 9 times. Change to B in the last ch. Fasten off A.
3) *sc in each sc, ch 1. Repeat from * 3 times. Change to A in the last ch. Fasten off B.
4) *sc in each sc, ch 1. Repeat from * 36 times. Change to B in the last ch. Fasten off A.
5) * sc in each sc, ch 1. Repeat from * 3 times. Change to A in the last ch. Fasten off B.
6) *sc in each sc, ch 1. Repeat from * 10 times. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Napkin Ring
1) With A ch 16. Starting on 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch. Change to B and ch 1. Fasten off A.
2) *sc in each sc, ch 1. Reapeat from * 2 times. Change to A in the last ch. Fasten off B
3) Sc in each sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
